The punning title of this romantic woody perfume refers to the myth of Gawain and Pelleas, Knights of King Arthur’s Round Table. It is a tale of love, betrayal and chivalric codes. Pelleas loves a high-born woman, but she toys with his desire and spurns him. Gawain vows to help him woo this fickle lover but he falls in love with her himself and forgets his promise to Pelleas. Pelleas finds his comrade and lover asleep in bed together. He draws his sword but realises he cannot slay them and leaves his unsheathed weapon between on the bed.

Interestingly there is an otherworldly ambiance to Knight of Love, a suspension of reality in the structuring of carefully chosen notes. The character is forged like a sparking sword in the top notes: zesty bergamot, sparkling pink pepper, cardamom and juniper berries with their distinctive odour of frozen gin and hints of pine resin.

This pungent mix heralds a heart of rose, magnolia and violet with a spiced woody timbe. The base is a romantic staging of woods, amber, leather, vanilla and moss with lingering traces of tobacco. With the original knightly tale in mind, revelling in the chivalric odours of love, obsession and reconciliation makes Knight of Love poignant and unforgettable.
