Hanuman

Hanuman celebrates the Chinese Year of the Monkey. Hanuman is a much-loved and revered Hindi deity, a loyal companion of Rama, an essential avatar of Vishnu. This most sacred of animals has become increasing visible in religious iconography, representing loyalty, optimism, heroism, strength, all tinted with a sprinkling of playful mischief.

The perfume is sublime; an unexpected mix of tangy citrus, sensual indolic blooms and a wonderful base of robust woods and ambered musks. Vetiver suggests both the greenness of canopies and roots.

Normally the volatility and small size of citrus notes means they fizz off quickly at the top of perfumes, in Hanuman however, a canopy of lemon, blood orange, bergamot and cassis filters down slowly through the composition, the juicy orange in particular illuminating the bridge into the intricate marigold-tinged bouquet at the heart of the perfume, this connects to a woody vetiver base with flickers of warm amber and musks
