An ambiguous perfume in its mix of floral and more masculine leaning citrus notes, Consort opens with a rush of zesty citrus, a diadem of bergamot, acerbic lemon, mandarin, piquant lime, pithy citrus leaf and the distinctive piney gin vibe of crushed juniper berries. A touch of pink pepper adds extra fizz.

Citrus notes are traditionally top notes, lending effervescence and sunny welcome to perfumes. As smaller molecules they evaporate quickly. They act as precursors to the more traditional floral, woody and musk-oud scenarios that develop in their wake.

Interestingly Consort doesn’t behave like this, the glittering citrus is a strong beginning and yes it softens, but the bright impact illuminates the entire composition. The word consort suggests royalty, the spouse or companion of a reigning monarch. It is a word that might seem archaic, but this works in its favour, suggesting formality and embellished display.

The heart of Consort is the pearlescence of magnolia and orange blossom washed with Hedione, imparting lustre and sparkle. Patchouli and vetiver in the base add a gentle smokiness in the base, supported by musks and a crystalline amber.

Overall, Consort is a lovely, rich perfume to wear, the slow fade allowing time to appreciate how quality citrus notes can indeed last and delight.

Fragrance Story

The inspiration behind this remarkable scent

The perfect companion

An ambiguous perfume in its mix of floral and more masculine leaning citrus notes, Consort by Boadicea the Victorious opens with a zesty rush of citrus notes, a delicious diadem of bergamot, acerbic lemon, mellow mandarin, piquant lime, pithy citrus leaf and the distinctive piney gin vibe of crushed juniper berries. A touch of pink pepper adds extra fizz.

Citrus notes have been long used in perfumery as top notes, lending effervescence and sunny welcome to perfumes.

It is a word that might seem archaic, but this works in its favour, suggesting formality and embellished display, medals, tiaras, brooches, heirloom jewels, everything catching the light at official events.

The heart of Consort is the pearlescence of magnolia and orange blossom washed with Hedione, imparting lustre and sparkle. Patchouli and vetiver in the base add a gentle smokiness in the base, supported by musks and a crystalline amber.

Overall, Consort is a lovely, rich perfume to wear, lots of cleverly assembled and varied citrus tones with a fruity floral heart and elegant base. The slow fade allows time to appreciate how quality citrus notes can indeed last and delight.
