Boadicea's Pewter Collection goes on sale in the States

Pewter has always been at the very heart of Boadicea the Victorious, the beautiful metal from which the intricate shields which adorn our iconic bottles are handcrafted.

When we began the creative process that developed our brand we sought out the expertise of one of the world’s oldest pewter manufacturers, a family business based in the heart of England still trading from the same factory building occupied since Queen Victoria’s days.

Pewter is loved for its enormous versatility, lending itself to gentle shapes as well as undulating forms, elegant and luxurious but capable of being finished with either soft luster or dazzling brilliance. It seemed fitting, then, to celebrate our love affair with pewter by using it to inspire the next offering of mesmerising eau de perfumes.

The Pewter Collection has just gone on sale in America where its quintessential British heritage has already made it a best seller.

The collection offers three distinct scents – Heroine, Lavish and Virago.

Heroine is beautifully inspired by the great warrior Queen who gives our brand her name. Opening with soft, feminine, and fruity citrus tones before revealing a rich heart of floral accords bursting to escape and conquer, before the feeling of empowerment gives way to triumph through powdery orris and vanilla sugar.

Lavish lives up to its name, with uplifting bergamot and lemon followed by an optimistic heart of orange flower and decadent rose before a base including sandalwood and cedar, provides a warmth that is full of soft enrapture.

Last but very definitely not least comes Virago – a name historically bestowed on a woman who rose above what was expected of her gender. The opening of mandarin, cassis, and pink pepper might be considered typically feminine, but don’t be fooled. Just like Queen Boadicea the fragrance has hidden depths as warm jasmine sambac mingles with playful honeysuckle before revealing a base of patchouli, white musks, amber wood, and vanilla that leaves a sense of strength and control.
