According to folklore, pigs see and remember all. Moccus, inspired by our porcine friends and the Chinese Zodiac Year of the Pig, is a striking and unforgettable perfume, based around the eccentric marriage of juniper and the luxe sensuality of orris, derived from the rhizome of irises and one of the most expensive materials in perfumery. 

The iris roots are harvested and hung like game to slowly desiccate in the dark, the length of time accentuating and amplifying the irones, which give orris its distinctive powdered character. Lavender and piquant pepper add texture and intrigue at the top, allowing the lovely expansion of orris, accompanied by the bitter-green of violet leaves and cashmere woods. Leathery cistus and benzoin resin mingle adroitly with tonka bean and vanilla, adding a soft smoky sweetness as Moccus settles.

An idiosyncratic perfume, Moccus utilises resinous bite and soothing powder to fabulous effect.
